I'm not sure where Ron borg is getting his information from but there's no way that Pay Per Play ads are anywhere near as popular as CPA, CPC and CPM affiliate networks.

I wonder when people will wake up and realize that the majority of internet users will never re-visit a site that forces audio on them. I surf with my speakers turned off and what about hearning impaired internet users ?

<em>Dave's last blog post..<a href='http://www.affiliatebestprograms.com/best-earning-programs-at-pepperjam-network/' rel="nofollow">Best Earning Programs at PepperJam Network</a></em>

I don't think that advertising on popular blogs is crucial. Especially at first when your funds are limited.

How is the traffic that you are receiving from Shoemoney now? Well, I hope the traffic increased. Your blog is already getting many hits a day.

@Jason: Oh gotcha, I thought you ordered a $20 125x125 ad.

At any rate, I hope the traffic subscribes.

@ VB, it's a bit early, but if the stats stay the same, hopefully with a few more RSSers I'll be happy.

@ Ron, damn... you're really into the PPP thing eh :razz:

If I was an advertiser, I'd prefer to play for banners above the fold and pay per click, because well... even if they don't get many clicks, they stay in the mind of visitors and thus will (hopefully) generate more exposure - say I saw a banner of Viking Blogger on Shoemoney, if I came across him being mentioned somewhere else I'd go 'hey, that name's familar'... whereas I'd associate an audio ad (especially if it's played in one of those extremely annoying voice tones) with the ads on TV, which not many people like.

@ Olgi, hopefully no one notices eh :razz: Are 24 hours up? :D

@ Colin, I paid $75/month... With about 10 visitors a day so far. You could take it at approx $0.4 a visitor (as it costs $2.xx a day) or even better, if you look at the average time they spent... $0.4/two minutes is not that bad at all. And yeah, PPP sucks! :razz:

@ William, perhaps... it was more an experiment (and me wanting to advertise on one of the big boys :razz: ) - at $75, it's not a too expensive one even if I get zero visitors, and I can always say I advertised on Shoemoney, eh :)

@ Les, perhaps you'd like to subscribe to the feed ;)

@ David, cheers for the summary :)

A free domain tip that is probably the good thing that most people would like to have one. If advertising on shoemoney does give you a lot traffic than is worth but if it only gives you a few then you might consider not a good move.

Paying for traffic to your blog isn't the best idea, since it's not exactly like each visitor is going to make you money directly. It would probably have been more financially sound to promote an affiliate product or something similar, because in the short term, a few visitors reading your blog isn't going to give you a return on your investment.

Just my 3 cents...

In my opinion, $1 per visitor is still a bit overpriced. At any rate, I am glad to see you hate PPP as well.
