Morning all.
Apologies for not posting yesterday; I actually wrote this up late last night but my internet died before I hit the Publish button. Sucks, aye?
In recent days I’m noticing the amount of splogs that are putting trackbacks on this blog are slowly starting to increase – at the beginning, there were only two or three a day – yesterday’s count read 30. Seeing as they serve no useful purpose in life apart from being pests to those with half-decent (not saying this one is half decent at all
) blogs, they should be put through the online equivalent of being burned alive
. Speaking of splogs, I found one a few days ago that was commonly linking to this – I did a WHOIS on it and it was owned by a Digital Point member! After sending him a not-so-nice message, he quickly removed my feed from his list and promised never to do it again. Can’t be too pissed off I suppose considering I even wrote an eBook on this topic; ah well.
As for the ever controversial topic of Entrecard, one of the ‘bigger’ bloggers – John Cow – dropped out yesterday. Considering the whole point of the system was so that smaller blogs could advertise on bigger ones, this is a huge blow to the system. With the tools gaming the system with 300 drops a day and the extremely high bounce rate I get from there (due to the tools gaming the system) I’ll be removing it too – will splurge on something in the shop and then get rid. Apologies to all those that have advertising through Entrecard on TUK; it’ll be an interesting one to see how many of you come back when there isn’t the option to drop your card.
I currently have 85 opt ins through my free eBook being given away at WebFlipCash.com – all of you that haven’t grabbed a copy, go ahead and do so – now
. I’ve been thinking about the list, and whilst it’s good to have so many subscribers, and a lot of them are past customers, there are a majority only there for the freebie – meaning they won’t spend if I launch a product through there in the future. Decisions, decisions.
I also tweaked the advertising and about me pages of the blog yesterday – updated the advertising rates to make it more current and tweaked my writing rates a bit on the Hire Me page. If anyone wants advertising… you know where to go
. I also broke the 100 subscribers mark yesterday; it’s taken time, but considering I haven’t really marketed this blog to the extreme yet, I’m pretty happy with it. I’ll be promoting this blog a lot more when the header gets put up – which should be today or tomorrow
.
Not much else; I have a guest post coming along on Can’t Get Rich soon. Feel free to enjoy the dofollow PR3 link if you comment…

But.. that was about 2 months back or so…
Nice progress on the free ebook.

Jason was very clever putting two options, so it wouldn’t get moved from the freebies area

I have noticed the spam blogs as well – they are very very annoying. Even when I try searching my name in Google, it returns blog posts that I have created on other blogs (as a guest blogger) which is really strange :-/
How can they be stopped?

These Entrecard chain droppers are ruining the system. I’d say burn them alive!!!

Dropping out of EntreCard also. Waste of space + .00000000001MB of bandwidth.

Ah… I knew it..
It’d only be a matter of time before Entrecard went down in terms of quality too

Entrecard – too much traffic = lower quality.
