I’ve been waiting a while, and put in quite a bit of work… the culmination of all that is that Blog Premiere is finally here and it feels pretty damned good.
Although the website is fairly basic, with just the base ready, it took quite a bit of time and effort to get ready – working on getting the hosting up, finding someone that could do the theme and customize a few things, purchasing and then tweaking the theme – writing content and drawing up ideas to build the website… and then taking a break from all that to write a post here on TUK.
I gave this a mention in yesterday’s rambling post, but it was without content then and still very much not ready – I believe that I don’t have to make too many changes to the actual website itself now, just the content and the addition of a few more pages. Although there will be plenty, plenty more content, I wrote up three articles that will (hopefully) be useful to anyone interested in blogging – see below:
1) Choosing a Niche to Blog In
2) Why I Blog
3) Five Ways To Monetize A Blog
If you have time, head over and comment as they’re looking rather… lonely at the moment – far less lonely than they would if they were posted here on TUK.
I’d be interested in knowing what ideas anyone has for the magazine, with regards to promotion, features or anything else – I have a few ideas of my own, but for this to become the worldwide giant I envision it to be, I will need innovation from others and not just myself.
How you can help
Although I’ve got a lot of it covered, I can’t do it all myself; I need help. If you’re capable of writing content that you think would do well in front of thousands of readers, drop me a line for a contributed article to the magazine. I’m projecting at least 1,000 downloads, probably much, much more – space is limited, so get in quick; you’ll be putting your article in front of thousands of targeted viewers, all of whom are interested in blogging.
Some of you may not want/have the time to create articles for the magazine – no problem. If you could just mention the magazine and its goals in your next blog post, it would be a great help; in fact, you can even win stuff (see below). I will be purchasing paid reviews on a few webmaster blogs over the next few weeks, but my funds are low, as I’ve already spent quite a bit and will be spending some more (tshirts alone will cost $1,000+) – any free exposure that I can get, I will be extremely grateful for.
If you have ideas, just send me an email through one of the ways on my contact page.
Win Stuff
Come on, you know that the bulk of you only read this post because of the “Win Stuff” in the title.
I’m currently running the ultimate blog contest but that is a long way away from ending; let’s do something that ends fast.
Anyways, I’m looking for exposure for the blog magazine, but I don’t expect it to go unrewarded; I’ll be putting up something for grabs for all those that help.
Simply link to the blogging magazine and this post in your next blog post and you’ll be in with a chance to win a review on TUK (worth $60) or an hour of consultation time with yours truly (worth $1,000 $997 $0.5 ? ). You can do whatever you want with these prizes – if you don’t think they’ll be of much use, sell them, give them away, run your own contest. Note, all I’m asking for is a mention in a post, not a full post dedicated to the magazine.
If, however you want to be more dedicated and write a full post about the magazine and what it’s aiming to do though, that would be even better. If you write a post solely about the magazine, I’ll guarantee you a review. Not a full review mind you, but a post dedicated only to the websites of bloggers that have linked to it (if you remember, John Chow and Tyler Cruz used to do something like that too). On a blog with 350+ RSS subscribers and slowly nearing 1,000 uniques a day, that’s not bad for exposure
You’ll also of course be entered to win the two prizes above.
I know this is a bit discriminatory towards those who don’t have blogs… anyways, here’s something else you can do – I’ll Paypal $5 to the person with the best idea for the blog magazine. This can be made on this post or via email, your choice. Not a lot, but not bad for thirty seconds of your time (I hope!).
This impromptu contest will end in a week, but may end sooner depending on entries. Time is of essence.
Last but not least, feel free to subscribe to Blog Premiere by feed or email.

Where do you find the time to complete such epic projects? I can barely complete a post a LOA much less create many new epic blogs!
I’ll take the time to write a full post about the mag in exchange for the review. I’ll comment back here when completed.

Check it!
P.S. Maybe you can hold a RSS subscription contest. You can also make and distribute a free ebook about making money. I think you will grab buzz.
Maybe I can get an entry for $5.
Anyway, Good Luck!

Congrats on the launch Jason. What site would be ur top priority? TUK or BP?

@ George, already spoke with you about the downloads
@ LoA, being a Uni student with a 3 week break (until I have any serious work) helps. So do the dreams of riches, although I doubt this project will make decent money for the first short while.
Cheers for the blog post, love the picture
@ Mike, thanks for the support, I’ll be waiting…
@ Chetan, cheers for the well wishes, and I’ll be waiting to see your mention too
@ Jim, thanks. Tbh if I waited, I’d never get it up, so I put in the work and am (slowly) starting to see the results
@ Will Haynes, I guess it is
. Cheers for the well wishes
@ Chiong, thanks for your post. As for your idea, I had an idea to release a blogging eBook in exchange for signups… however, will hold you in the lead currently as no one else has entered. Geesh!
@ ChiQ, I think I can work on both, however I will say this – I can envision BP becoming much bigger than TUK ever will be. Btw, you’ve got mail

Hey TUK when looking at the site I came across a rather displeasing error. Under blogging tips it is extremely hard to highlight one of the items in the navigation bar. I am using fire fox and it was maybe a 1/15 chance of it actually highlighting one of the two options in the drop down list. Just though I’d point that out.

@ Jay, if you dedicate a post to it, you get a guaranteed paragraph in a post about only those that have reviewed the website. Considering that only three have done so thus far, that’s a decent amount of exposure.
You also get put into the drawing to win a review solely for your website, which costs $60 normally.

The site looks good but the trick will be making it into more than “another blog” and more as a magazine.
I guess my suggestion would be to do a monthly interview with top name bloggers, similar to what retire@21 does with young web entrepreneurs, but this would be purely bloggers. If you could get the “guests” to further contribute with a post that would be even better…
