Today was a bit of a good day – just found out that I broke 100 subscribers for my newsletter (118 at the moment) with it rapidly rising by the hour – I’m pretty happy considering it took me only three days (whereas I’ve had 99 subscribers through RSS in two months). I guess giving away a free report helps a lot – I will try something like that for the RSS soon, if I learn how to hide stuff from the rest of ya

It was also the 100th post on this blog which being an ignorant tool I completely missed, so a little bit of self congratulations in my 102th post. In that time I have had 1,300 subscribers, which averages about 13 comments a post – that’s not bad at all in my opinion, especially considering I haven’t spent much on marketing this blog. Goal for the year – get it averaging 20+ comments/post by the end (certainly achievable I think) while I’ll aim for a not-so-realistic 10,000 subscribers to the newsletter by January 1st, 2008. What do you think?

I’ve had quite a few people that asked about the header – it was done by this DP member (who has a team of designers). His rates start at $100 for the full set (header + background); I told him to raise his prices after he did mine. I am not getting anything out of referring people to him, but just thought I would because he offers an affordable option for those of you that wanted extreme quality but were unable to pay for it (until now). Forking out $100 – $150 on a custom character… well, it may seem like a lot in the short term, but in the long run in will more than make up for it as you can build yourself a brand that you can market off.

By the way, here’s the winnings from the contest – I will also post up a picture with the t-shirt when I get it

Not bad at all – I’ll be entering a few more contests that I find interesting around the blogosphere. A good (online) friend, Thomas Sinfield also won $100 – you may remember his guest post on here a while back :) .

I got ready to start working on my image upload/URL shortening site, especially with the new header… wake up and find out from someone that the fooking thing is down. Argh! It’s allowing me to login to cPanel, but not into FTP… and says there are no files on the domain, even though it clearly shows them in cPanel. I’ve asked the guy they’re hosted with for more details through email… we’ll see what happens :(

After posting on Digital Point that my blog had dofollow comments, with the link juice of a PR3 blog being passed on, I’ve gotten quite a few more comments – most of them pretty good ones. I’m also getting comments from people with a moronic anchor text – one guy had ‘Oil Production Services’ – whilst I know you want the best for your site, it’s not going to happen on this blog – I’ll either delete your comment entirely if people use silly anchor text like that, or change it to something similarly unrelated (how’d you like to rank #1 for the term ‘gay red penguins’ ?) ;) .

As for my Entrecard experiment.. I’ve received 126 visitors in three days (76 yesterday) which is an average of 40 or so visitors a day… I needed to use 1,200 credits for this, and now that I have none left… my opinion of it hasn’t changed much. Ditch the card or ditch the card? We’ll see in the next few days.

Oh yeah – the guest post I did on Can’t Get Rich is up – drew a bit of flak, but ah well. Controversy keeps the blood running, eh?

Last but not least, you might notice a slight colour change on the site – let me know what you think :)

Ah, the orange it burns! Only joking Jason, it looks nice although the footer seems to be oblivious of a separate section!
Nice job on the 100$, burn it, then post it on digg and then you can get link bait

@ William… he did try and put up some unique content, to be fair. Although hopefully my calculated bash (gotta be tough on them newbs  ) will convince him to get a new domain… it’s for his own good

@ James… err, oops! Just gotta turn back the clock eh

@ Sawan, I was thinking gold… as in gold for money. Can’t exactly burn the $100 (its in Paypal at the moment), although that is a decent idea… :)

Congrats on your 100 subscribers, Numbers doesn’t matter but how you
    treat them does.

Wish those tabs( favorite posts etc.,) followed the posts page.

@ Sawan… I’ve found a ton of them that look stylish, but the problem is the don’t fit the theme (see http://gloryinlife.com/tools-resources/51-rss-button-for-your-blog/)

I put up one which looks kind of alright… I’ll be searching for more though.

    @ Usman, can’t please everyone hey. ;)

@ Sly, cheers. I put in a lot of hard work to gain that prize

@ Derek/James… it’s supposed to be a university campus, although seems a bit archaic.. mine is kinda similar (although we don’t have that kinda fountain  ) so it’s alright I think. Might do something about the edges.

Glad to hear about the proxy, good luck with it :)

@ Thomas, cheers again… loadsa hard work on your part too I presume
