This is a paid review, entirely of my own opinion and not influenced much  by me getting paid. At the moment I am not taking other paid reviews as I have a backlog to do, however if you are interested in knowing when one will open up, contact me.

One of the biggest problems when anyone starts trying to make money online is the sheer number of ad networks available – do I go with Never Blue Ads, Market Leverage, or Pepperjam? For monetization, do I use Google Adsense, Shopping Ads or Adbrite? Those are quite a few options, and those are just the ones I use – there are dozens out there.

Time is money in online business, and the more time you save deciding on which network you want to join, the more money you’ll make. And this is where Publisher Spot comes in handy.

Publisher Spot is run by internet entrepreneur Tyler Cruz, who has put in a lot of work in getting this sorted – parts of it have been custom coded and it is meant to be a useful resource for everyone looking to make money online. Where else could you find reviews of all the networks in one place, rated by different users? As he mentioned in an email to me, there isn’t anything similar out there.

I like the design; it contains a lot of options while not looking too cluttered, and the content seems pretty fair to me. One of the great features of the website is its search function, which allows you to look for ad networks based on specific features.

For example, I prefer ad networks that pay through Paypal – the postal system here is a bit rubbish, and cheques take some time to be sent anyways. By using their advanced search, I was able to find twenty two networks that pay by Paypal. If I wanted to take it even further, I could sort it more – by minimum payout, by payout frequency and of course by user rating, letting me decide on the best option to try and make money. Pretty brilliant, to say the least. :)

There are already thirty seven reviews of various networks out there, and more are being added as I type this – these are not just reviews thrown together in five minutes though. According to Tyler, Publisher Spot takes 6-12+ hours reviewing a network, working it to see what is good and bad – they specifically make sure that they sign up for the network using an alias to avoid special treatment, so ad networks will be fully tested to see how they react to all kinds of publishers.

Two of the things that have recently been added are a forum and blog, both of which are definitely positives for the website. Having a strong community not just adds variety to your website, but also lessens the amount of work you have to do. Although both are relatively new, I can see them growing in popularity pretty quick – anything that helps you make money will see people sign up, and this certainly does. The forum and blog are directly integrated into the page layout which is cracking – it means that your view never has to change. I do not know how much that would have cost, but I will be looking at getting it done for a few websites I run. :)

I normally offer some constructive critisism, but in this case I don’t have any; some of the reviews could use a little more feedback, but judging by the amount of reviews Tyler will be ordering I think that will come pretty soon. The reviews definitely talk about every single aspect of a publisher network – see the review of Market Leverage for example, which was more than 1,500 words and not just had a lengthy text review but also a section at the bottom summarizing it. The only thing I could suggest is maybe add some video to the reviews of websites, and quotes from how others felt about it (by looking at various other blogger reviews) – these two things are just a luxury and the website functions fine without them. A point that has been raised before is the resolution of the page – it is kind of small at the moment however again, it works and that’s all you want.

Although the website (in my opinion) is aimed at newbies – and it is very helpful for newbies, with things like their glossary which explains all the commonly used words in affiliate marketing / advertising – everyone can benefit from this, as I have found some interesting looking networks that I had not even heard of before I was asked to review Publisher Spot.

If you haven’t heard of Publisher Spot before, I’d suggest you check it out – it helps you. You can go ahead and subscribe to their RSS feed to be notified whenever they make an update; there will be a few more reviews added I think.

Do you have any ideas on how Publisher Spot could be improved – is there anything I’ve missed out on? Let Tyler know in the comments section of this post; he bought reviews looking for not just exposure, but feedback too so help him out. If there’s any ad network that you’d like to know more about, point at it below. To stop this post reaching the same length of the Market Leverage review, I’m going to end this now – anyways, check out Publisher Spot! :)
