Umm you guys know right – there’s a killer contest happening in the blogosphere. Make sure you join if you haven’t!

Okay first things first – a few of you will notice a new page on the blog, called Testimonials. I ditched the Links page, as it wasn’t of much use; however, I have put everything on the Links page @ the new one until the end of the month.

Basically, I want to know, and I want others to know, what people think of this blog. If I’ve helped you make money; let me know, if you like the posts, let me know; if you think I’m a person that you could spend all day laughing at, let me know. In exchange for your 1-2 sentence testimonial, you’ll get a permanent slot on that page and maybe a monthly kind of thing in the sidebar (I’m working on that, something for later).

Think like a testimonial for sales pages, but I’m not selling anything, just free blog posts. However, it’s always easier to get people to subscribe if others recommend doing so, so I want others to see what readers of this blog think.

You can post your testimonial in the comments on this post (use your URL and name for whatever site you want) or you can email it to admin[at]theuniversitykid[dot]com or you can send it to be via instant messenger – all up to you. Remember, permanent link to your website :)

Now then – I’ve promised to post up useful content for a month, however this is an occasion that warrants a one time change – I’d like to post this to warn you guys not to upgrade to Wordpress 2.6.

There have been people having pretty large problems with it, from their databases being wiped to plugins killing themselves – you should never upgrade to something less than a week or two (I usually wait a month) after it releases as there will always be bugs.

For WP 2.6, I believe quite a few of the plugins are having problems, namely All In One SEO Pack and Top Commetators, two of the most useful ones out there – if you want a normal, functional blog, ignore that annoying message under your WP dashboard and upgrade in a few weeks.

This holds true for anything – I’m still on the older version of many programs and am not having a problem; I love Windows XP but hate Vista; you get the idea. Always let the ‘early movers’ – people who want to be the first to upgrade things etc – let them be the first and let them test out all the problems so that you don’t have to. :)

I should really have posted this earlier, as I know a few people are having problems with it – anyways, learn this and never upgrade things too quickly in the future. Being lazy has worked well for me, so follow that and you’ll be fine. :)
