Entering the Proxy Game Again
Posted by Jason in Daily RamblingHehe.
Despite my exams coming up (pretty soon actually, I’ll need guest posters – will talk about this tomorrow or the day after), I’m still trying out various things with regards to online business.
In this case, I’m talking about proxies. Proxies are one of the BEST ways for Internet newbies to start online – you can get started for less than ten dollars and see a return on your investment within the day; promotion is 100% free if you know what you’re doing and at the moment, proxies are selling pretty shockingly well on Sitepoint (I’ve seen some go for the 10x a month’s revenue that “normal” websites sell at, which is just insane to be honest). Take advantage of a hot trend, and get into them if you can.
I took a little bit of this idea from Geoff over at Can’t Get Rich – he’s documented his attempt to create the worst network of websites on the Internet. The basic premise was having thousands of pages, and wanting each page to generate ten cents a day. However, this would be similar to your standard splog, and you have a decent chance of getting your Google Adsense account banned – not something you want.
What I will be looking at is taking the same principle, and using it on proxies. Getting a proxy to $0.1/day recurring (ie, set and forget) is pretty damned easy – not to be rude, but if you cannot do it you probably shouldn’t be in the whole online websites thing. You can read more about promotion and stuff in my slightly long guide here. As .INFOs only cost $1.19 at GoDaddy now (note, you have to buy five at a time) your proxy pays for its domain in less than a week, and everything after that is pure profit (less hosting costs).
Edit – Jay of Nu Pixel Studios has just informed me that he purchased a single .INFO for $1.19. So you don’t need to buy five
Not huge profit mind you, but the name of the game here is replicating in bulk; one thousand websites generating a dime a day gives you your $100/day. Of course, you’d have to spend a bomb on hosting but if you were making $100/day I don’t think you’d mind too much.
Seeing that I recently got my Adsense account back, I’ll be going with proxies, just testing them over the next few days to see how they go. I have a couple ideas that will make my proxy network slightly different to the thousands of others out there, and an unbelievable idea that I think will make me a truckload of cash (note, I have never seen it discussed anywhere before). However, the problem is that a credit card is needed, which I don’t have… I will look into it
I am currently looking for CPM based programs that accept proxies – in the past, all I used was Adsense and though that did somewhat well it seems like a waste not to monetize the proxified pages (as they tend to rack up a tonne of pageviews). I’ve applied to Canep Media – sadly, Adversal aren’t taking new applicants at the moment because I’ve heard that they’re decent. If you have a suggestion, feel free to let me know and I’ll gladly signup through your affiliate link
I’m not going to explain what proxies are and how they work, as you can read about them in my earlier post – anyways, that page is a PR2 and I believe I have dofollow enabled on TUK so spam it with your link leave a decent comment and you get a backlink with value to your blog. Can’t hurt.
The biggest problem I have at the moment is whether to start out brand new or go with what I have – at the moment, I have around 30 proxy domains on me, a lot of them aged with decent backlinks and also expiring within the next month. However, a few of them will probably be blocked, as they tend to be after a few weeks and as they’re expiring soon it may be worth it to just drop th

very good move by you, Jason. Even I have entered to this business again after a long time, and I am starting out with about 10 proxies. They’re all setup at the moment, and ready to get the traffic and cash. And 10x revenue for proxies!?!?! Jeez! Are you sure? Can you give me a couple of auction links? lol, that’s alot for proxies.

Het Jason, any new recommendations for proxy hosting?
As always I am looking for cost effective solution.

Its funny because I was going to bring this up on the forums. I am thinking about getting back into proxies as well. But as Arpit asked, it seems like proxy hosting always seems to be the biggest challenge in maintaining proxies.
I love proxies for personal reasons
. Well… maybe more of just high quality proxy domain names!

@ IMBlogger, just search “proxy” through the Sitepoint listing. A couple I found had revenue of $80 and sold for $600+ which is about 7x. There were a few higher.
@ Arpit, I will update on here when I find hosting
@ EGK, feel free to post a thread under the private section
@ Sammy, what proxy domains do you have?
Generics, of course.

Proxy.org wouldn’t happen to be yours now, would it?
Alright, thanks for the reply Jason. And about the hosting – I’d recommend y’all to go with Iwhic.com. They have some pretty good plans out there and I’m currently hosting 10 proxies in a hosting account. I have bought the Advance package. You can also get a 50% discount for the first month by using the coupon “1stMonth”.
NOTE : I am not affiliated with this site in any way if you’re thinking

I saw iWhic, problem is that they have a domain limit. Hmm.
I think that you should make a large post explaining how to promote and monetize proxy site.

@ TSG, you still have a month or so before schools end. Then there is summer school, work etc…
@ Chetan – you are missing out on easy money.
Hello I stumbled on this doing a SEO search. I want to thank the post first of all on proxy sites and the details.
It is a profitable situation when – you can set it and forget it.
Currently Personally hosting 42 proxy sites. Average day with Google is $15.00 Not to shabby. It can be done and if you hit the road running you can get them to auto pilot.
Being that I am my own host for my sites ( If not hosting would be a ouch )
We do have proxy hosting and host some large sites on our servers.
We are utilizing 8 core servers with at least 6GB of ram,
Our new Servers will be on line with in 48 hours and those all are 8core with 8GB of ram.
If you need more domains added to your account You can open a support ticket and we can add them after the fact of ordering.
They are 50 cents per add on domain
and 20 cents for sub domains.
Reasonable if you compare other host.
Thank you for reading.
