You guys know pretty well that I can’t design or code for nuts, which is why I’m writing this post.
I’m looking for a Wordpress theme creator. One theme (although there will be more if all goes well) with two variations created of it (a simple tweak).
I have in mind exactly what I want and will be able to show a example of what I want it to look like too.
I’ve searched the various forums for freelancers but the freelancers I’ve spoken with always want to play a guessing game… which pisses me off. Let me know your price before hand and stick to it. If you want to change your prices after you start work and we agree, do not email me.
This theme will need to be 100% valid through the regular tests and also be widgetized – something that is newbie friendly. This theme will also need to have an AJAX tab like the one on here – I’m looking for a Web 2.0 look. You will be passing off all rights to me, however if you do well on this one there will be another project in the offering (to design and code one for this blog – you’ll get a permanent footer link which will send you a decent chunk of business if you do a good job.)
My budget… is around $250.00 maximum. I’m open to negotiations slightly on price, but if you want to charge double that or more, please do not contact me. For all those that will accuse me of being a cheapskate – I apologize, however this will be the most I have ever paid for a theme (the most I’ve ever paid before is around half that). Make sure you have a portfolio to show me if you’re charging at the higher end of that price range.
I want the design and coding done through one person, so unless you’re fairly confident that you can do this (I do not care if you outsource one or the other but I only want to deal with one person) please, do not contact me.
This theme will be for a project of mine – I’ve always said I wanted to get into the premium theme market, especially for make money online blogs as there is little to no competition at the moment. This was originally meant to be done as a joint venture however the designer never got back to me, so I will be doing this on my own… I’m hopefully projecting $x,xxx from this venture but if possible I will try and go five figures. I can market the crap out of any project, however need a product to market first
There will be an addon to this theme purchase that will make it far better than any other package out there. If you’re interested, my contact details are here.

Jason, I can hook you up with the guy that did my theme. His price comes in a little below your max. If you’re interested shoot me a IM later tonight…

I think you are paying a little more. You should keep it below 200$ .

I wish I was a theme designer, they have some of the easy life. Make and sell themes, make custom themes, create themes for themselves, and so on. You might consider Jai from BlogO!Blog.com to make a theme for you. It doesn’t say what the price is, but there is an order form, and you can just fill in your budget.
BTW, there was a comment I repeated because it indicated and error, so you can delete one.

I recommend Blog Oh Blog, or Jai. http://www.blogohblog.com/
Jai’s same person who did the original theme for our site, 2phatgeeks and the new theme. Jai also offers premium themes as well, and I have to say that each time Jai releases a theme I am super impressed.
If I had the money, I’d ask Jai to design a theme for 2phat geeks.

@elf_fu – Yes, I would too. I know you have the theme blueweed, and I am also using his corptheme on greenflamingodesigns.com(it better get ready to change though). I would also ask him to design a theme for me.

Hmm… I hate designers that don’t have an estimated price range on their website as they tend to charge by the client rather than the job. I once had a designer who tried to charge me 5x what his normal rates were, just because I had a post on TUK about how I made $2k one week with local niche marketing…
Out of interest though – how much did your theme cost, Melissa?

Yea, that’s exactly how they charge. Nothing to worry about. There are plenty fish in the sea.

I might have been able to fix you up with something nice if I hadn’t been so busy these days.

I can design and code for nuts, but not actually FOR nuts, lol…
@Jason, well, that’s why you’ll never hear about designers talking about how they made 2k in one week in niche designing

@Jason, to reply for Melissa, her theme was one of his free themes. He did design her old theme, but not customly, it was another of his free themes.

is the design for your blogpremiere site? cause the theme you have here is fine. It’s cow’s theme right? If you look around, you should be able to find a theme for under 250.

Why not put it out to bid on a site like rentacoder? You may get the best price this way and you can always view the designers rating and previous work.
