The sudden increase in The Rating Blog's RSS subscribers looks like something I learnt in Physics class. A 45 degree slope, a parabola. Haha. But if the RSS count is 45 degrees, then the hits slope should be 90 degress (straight)! :D

The more this Alan Johnson guy guest posted on John Chow, the more I suspected he was full of sh*t.

His posts were always vague and he never actually said anything. I call him "Yeah but". Check out how many back peddles he uses on this post alone.

He's the King of blah, which was fine with me. But now it turns out he's a flat out scammer. Thanks for outing him for us statistical newbies.

"The RSS count is another point - people CANNOT subscribe to your website if they do not visit it"

Hi Jason,

I know this is an old post. I came across it through another blog. I'm not commenting on the overall post, but I just wanted to point out that it is entirely possible to get RSS subscribers without the subscriber ever visiting your site.

All you have to do is submit your feed to various feed sites and people can subscribe from those sites. If you offer a full feed, people can read all of the content from your site AND sign up without ever visiting your site. I wrote a post about 42 feed sites that allow you to add your feed to their site. A user never has to touch your site to subscribe to your feed.

Just a small note.

Thanks,
Kila

2ThePoint if you do not like the comments then just you move the f*%* on! The fact are the more comments that are made here no matter what it is will give Jason the blog owner more content and in return Google will like him more and in the process reward him by sending him traffic to this post.

Who the f*%* gave you the authority to actually go to another bloggers blog and moderate his comments?
