Make sure you join the killer contest giving away a Nintendo Wii and a Flip Mino. It’s one of the easiest around to enter, and it’s for a good cause too!
Every day, I have an instant messenger conversation with a different person – the conversation goes something like this:
X: hello Jason
J: heya
X: how can I make money online?
I’m not joking – I get around ten people daily with the exact same type of conversation, and the problem is I have to explain the various ways to each person over and over again, leaving me pissed off at the repetitive questions. In fact, this is why I’m writing this post.
Those of you that have pissed me off before know that I don’t hold back – I try to be as polite as possible, but if someone’s acting like an idiot or just being lazy, I do tell them. However, the problem is that newbies do want to make money online, and they need good advice; so this post is for all questions I get in the future.
I do not run this as a make money online blog but I do try to occasionally give you guys ways to make money, ways that have worked for me personally. Here’s some of the best, each requiring next to no investment or minimal amounts relative to the profits you’ll make.
Make Money Blog Commenting - talks about making money online by providing a link building service on blogs; using tools to find dofollow blogs easily. There is a more advanced version of this under the private forums at Blog Premiere, including a d-list as well as a case study about how a complete newbie made $1,000 in around a week following this method.
Make Money Blog Commenting Part 2 – aimed at people looking to get into affiliate marketing but people that hate frittering away money on pay per click or hiring people to build landing pages and whatnot. This is a method that can see you an immediate return, and also can be outsourced if you are too lazy to do it yourself (I am
).
Make Money Flipping Websites – Niche Websites – talks about making money by you guessed it – flipping niche websites. Website flipping is one of the easiest ways to get started out and I have an offer for you guys that can help you out (see end of the post).
Use Your Own Products To Make Money Online – talks about making money, and lots of it by releasing your own products onto the market, no matter what the niche. Remember, creating an info product (especially if it’s an eBook) is completely free and even if you know nothing about the niche it can be outsourced.
Proxies For Dummies – proxies are one of the best ways to get started out making Adsense income and they’re pretty easy to promote. Read this post if you want to know about how to get started with proxies, from the very basics of setting one up to promoting and monetizing it.
The above posts have enough information to get you making your first (or another, if you’ve already done it) $1,000 online. Remember, don’t be scared by the big number; $1,000 a month is only $33.3 a day. Still sound difficult? It isn’t – if someone like me can do it, you definitely can (I still can’t design or code, by the way…
).
Okay – here’s my idea, let me know what you guys think.
I love to help people… but personally, I have to set a limit as I just don’t have the time. For those thinking that I’m up to no good, let me just put it out there – I get around 100 instant messenger contacts asking me about stuff daily, and around 70% of that needs help with something or the other. For me, this whole internet marketing thing is a hobby, not a job; and remember, being a student I am rather lazy. I also have other revenue streams that I need to put some work into to setup, so can’t spend the whole day answering questions on instant messenger (which remember, I’m not paid for
).
I’ve also wanted to increase the earnings of this blog for some time now and I’ve been getting more and more into membership sites, so I thought of the perfect solution. What I’m pitching to you guys (oh no, the greedy bastard!
) is a membership course talking about all aspects of website flipping. Aimed at newbies and slightly experienced internet marketers, I’ll walk you guys through all aspects of website flipping (including different types of websites), and try and get some experienced marketers on board to share their knowledge with you.
At the moment, this is just an idea; I have no plans to make it a reality unless there is interest. What I’m thinking is either a fee of $97 or $47 monthly (depending on the number of people interested), but with a guarantee – if you don’t make your monthly fee back, you get a full refund. This will not be an eBook, but an actual forum of sorts where questions are answered and people can share advice, tips, techniques and whatnot. I’m know my advice makes people money; it has done so before and it will do so again; the money back guarantee (if you don’t make your membership fee back, you get to have spent the full month gaining free knowledge and thus can join without any risk).
What I want to know is…
Would you be interested in this?
What kind of price range would you deem suitable?
There are currently website flipping courses available but none of them come with such a guarantee (from what I’ve seen, at least) and a few of them cost in the 2, 3, 5 hundred dollar range – an amount newbies can’t afford.
Let me know guys – if you feel strongly about the idea either way (even if you hate it…) I’d love to hear what you guys think. Cheers!

I do not know anything about website flipping. So if you are giving me guarantee of earning at least a dollar more than the membership fees , I am ready to participate. I think you should provide monthly membership charge so that all can afford. I cannot specify you the price range. I am currently capable of giving 5-10$ .(Sorry but that is what all I have)

I think this could be an interesting suggestion for quite a few people. However if you could “top the balance” even further by guaranteeing people not only make back their initial investment but also the cost of setting up their site (which, frankly, could just be a domain and some cheap hosting) then suddenly it becomes a risk-free venture for your customers. Say $47 a month, with a guarantee of making at least $47 + $20 for costs (assuming 1-2 website built and all content written specially by the members) each month and there are a lot of people who may well jump on it.
I for one would certainly consider checking it out as you have really had some great quality articles here. Having found out about you c/o Click Consultants I’m an RSS subscriber of yours and your blog is great.

Hmm, I would suggest a price of about 100$+ which is paid as the user starts to make money. The domain and hosting will be under your name and transfered once the user pays you your due.
I know its not really practical to do that, but these days most of these good courses are not affordable for many noobs around.
Personally, I would pay you the 100$ upfront as I know you make money….at least you did it for me

@ Agent, the thing is – I want to cap this at a maximum of say 100 members, and charging $5 or $10 just won’t cut it. Even if all slots were filled (which I doubt…) that would be a maximum of $100 for the month. Considering that I’ll put a couple hours into this daily, that’s around $15/hour… not that good
@ Richard, to be honest, I don’t want to make it so much of a deal as when you make things too easy, too affordable people tend not to do any work. Domain and hosting costs less than $10 for one website, think that people should be able to cover that. However I will look into something like that, with a twist of course.
@ Jay, not funny, dude. Your recent blog post looks interesting, I’ll check it out
Also, do not believe we’ve discussed this, or if we have I cannot remember – let me know what you think, as it’s always cool to hear people’s opinions
@ Anand, do not think that is doable, although it’s an interesting idea. As I said above, although I want to decrease elements of risk, I do not want to eliminate them – people need to take risks to succeed online, and trusting me will be one of those risks. If people do not trust me… so be it.
Thanks for the feedback guys, decent ideas!

Interesting concept. The hard part is the guarantee… how do you keep track of the individuals profits? Honor system? Not so sure I would trust in that. But count me in.

I guess I am interested. Though I won’t join most likely. I think it is a good idea and you could make a lot of money off it Jason. What you should really do is start dominating locals, and teach a class somewhere in Dubai. It should be the same amount of money, and paid online, but they come to the class. I have more of the idea, for I give out tons of free business ideas (why don’t I sell them damn!) everyday. Contact via IM and I’ll tell you the rest if you want.

@ Jason: I am not asking you to charge so less. I was just telling you what money I have online. The problem with me is not the money but how I will pay me. I always have Rs 3000-4000 (INR) in my pocket but as I have no credit card I cannot pay. Even if you put a membership charge of 50$ I will try my best to pay you somehow.

I think it’s relatively easy to make more than $1000 online, but what I would find more interesting would be how to turn that $1000 into a solid monthly income of over $1000 maybe even $5000. Turning these simple make money online tricks/tips into a full-time career is what’s interesting to me.

I agree it’s an interesting idea … I personally would prefer a flat fee. I often have many irons in the fire and it would be best to have access whenever I have time to study and implement. If a couple of weeks go by and I can’t get to it … and I’m paying monthly … I’m more apt to cancel the membership. If I’ve paid up front … I will feel more obligated to follow thru. Just my thoughts. As for price … $40-$100 seems fair. Of course, you could always do the $97 and then set up an affiliate/referral program so we are incented to refer others … we earn say 60% commission?

Great post Jason. Really informative.
(As you know) I make money online by selling templates, wordpress templates and proxy templates. I bought a few thousand articles off dp for $10 and was going to create a website this summer, fill it with articles, get some visitors, and sell it, but, I dunno. I still might, just have other things on my plate.
Keep up the great work.

Hey Jason,
Great post, I haven’t yet completely started yet in internet marketing, but I’m looking at multiple ways and multiple streams of online income.
I have a reasonable idea for you -
keep this blog free obviously, and open some type of forum / coaching program for website flipping or whatever you want (I’d recommend affiliate marketing because there’s so much money in it).
What I would do is have the forum be FREE for the first month or two. Open it up to everyone. From there you can figure out who is serious about it and who isn’t serious about it. Get some good moderators for it. Email all of the members that it will be becoming a paid forum —- the ones who are serious about it will stay and pay the fee, but not only that, but new visitors will pay because you already have an awesome established forum.
As far as offering a course goes, what I would do is just have a free course. Something similar to http://theblackinkproject.com – Jeremy Palmer gets all kinds of links to his free webinar course on aff marketing. He’s now an even more established name in the industry — he’s probably making more than if he had made his course a paid course.
But here’s the kicker — you can now interlink the two (the course and the forum). The ones who are serious and take the free course will now want to join your paid forum for whatever reason — most people want to continue on and network with other people who are doing the same stuff.
God, why don’t I implement ideas like

I would be interested in something like this, but with more topics than just website flipping. I know you had talked about an Earners Guide forum before, I like that idea better. Site flipping is not for everyone, so if you were to open it up to a more broad range of MMO topics you may gain more interest.
You probably need to get together a small core group of people to get things going (not a lot of people are going to be willing to pay $47 for an idea that hasn’t even been implemented). This small group could consist of people that you have worked with or had relationships with in the past. You could offer this group free access for the first 1-2 months in exchange for them posting their progress on their blogs (because of this the group would obviously need to be made up of bloggers). This small group would help get things jump started, as well as provide free promotion from their blogs.
Just a suggestion, but I think the key will be getting the system/forums known out there as one that works. Then people will be lining up with their money in hand!…
[Reply]
July 17th, 2008 at 10:07 am
I think that $47 is more than fair especially considering that there’s a refund if things don’t pan out. If as you say your looking for a hundred users then I think you could probably even charge the $97 since your looking for a smaller more dedicated group. Anyone who pays $97 is far more motivated to see their investment pan out so it should help weed out some of the less committed.

If I were you, I’d charge the $97 fee. The guarantee is enticing because people can simply get their money back, but I would ask for some proof on not making any money (i.e., snapshots of their clickbank, paypal accounts showing $0). People will pay the $97, especially since you’ve made money these ways and can guarantee that these methods work. I recently spent $97 on the BANS software, and I am very, very frugal with my money. But BANS had a proven track record of success and a guarantee. You have both, so charge the $97.

Hi Jason,
Just reading this post of yours from the feed reader today and felt like giving a small suggestion. Due to the fact that most people who want to get started on making money online do not have any upfront capital, why not let them join your course for say, $10 and you charge them a % of their earnings from the methods that you have taught them?
I know this is very easy to get out of hand but I am sure people who are grateful of your course will pay it to you.
