I will be moving to a dedicated server with Hostican… I’m incredibly happy with their service, but to be a blog with more than a thousand users a day and with ambitions of getting on the Digg frontpage simply won’t last on shared hosting.
This blog may go down during the day – anyways, just letting you guys know, will post more about the move later. If you want decent hosting for smaller websites, I highly recommend Hostican’s Tera Host package, as I had 50~ small websites on them for months without any problems – anyways, use the coupon code University-12 to get $40 off (and help from me with setting up your blog should you need it

VERY NICE!! I might be shopping around for dedi soon… my sites are starting to get sluggish and it’s starting to annoy me since sluggish can equal lost revenue.
I can justify the price right now for a dedi but things have been “making it okay” on shared…. decisions decisions…

A VPS would be more than enough if you are only wanting to host TUK and maybe one other small site.
A dedicated for a single site of this size is kind of overdoing it, even if you were to get on Digg frontpage once a week.
Just a thought, wouldn’t want to throw out $200+/month when I don’t need too.

@ Matt, depending on the hosting specs I plan to run a service that should help my readers quite a bit…

You would certainly need a dedicated server once your blogging magazine
gets going.
Now to generate revenues eh Jason

Jason, if you need a hand, I’ll be here to help
- A dedicated server is much more to handle, though, so you may need to learn how to handle it

@ Daniel, this blog was on shared hosting before, although I did have a VPS/dedi/other shared hosting in the past for a few small websites.

what sort of server specs are you looking into now?
are you on a VPS now? if not it can be a choice before getting into a fully dedicated server. and lots cheaper

@ Chiq/Meethere, I would not have recommended Hostican were I not happy with their service (nor moved to a dedicated server were I unhappy)
Good luck with the move, and if you need any help, let me know.
