Sometimes you get ideas that you just got to try out… if you don’t, you’ll never know what might have been :)

Sadly, these ideas are often verging on the point of insanity, so for all those that feel this way… I’d like to plead insane. So if, after reading my post, you feel I’m crazy, at least I can say I warned you first.

I’d love to say the idea came through to me entirely by myself, but I’d be lying… it actually came after watching The Secret, a documentary we looked at during our spare time in a Psychology lecture. Now, first off, let me state that I think the whole concept of that video, of ‘hoping’ for things and they will come to you – that’s a load of rubbish, but nevertheless, it speaking about putting together the actions to get the objects of your dreams was pretty… interesting. What I found most interesting was interviews that had been put together with supposedly successful people, all outlining how ‘The Secret’ had helped them. I doubt ‘The Secret’ had anything to do with them becoming successful at all, but there we go. :)

It’s here I got the idea for this next little project of mine. You see, this guy spoke about wanting to make $100,000 a year… obviously that’s something I’d aspire to as well. He was a writer, but wasn’t doing too well… I believe he was making $800 a month before he hit across wealth, or so he said. His idea was that to reach $100,000, he’d have to sell 400,000 copies of a 25c book. Possible? Well, certainly; easy, definitely not. As he was talking about an actual hard cover book, I’m not sure how much of that was profit, but eventually he made (again, according to the video) $93,000 or so after going wild on newspaper, radio and whatnot.

That’s where the gears started ticking, although it took a while to manifest. You see, while reaching $100,000 is a decent dream, most of us, especially those with even ‘average’ jobs will amass that amount over the course of our lifetime. The real goal for most of us should be to try and reach seven figures, or upwards of $1,000,000. Despite me having never even seen that amount in cash, or even a tenth of it, I’m striving to reach that number… and you guys are going to help.

In life, you generally tend to fall short of your goals… although if you reach anywhere near them, you’ll be happy. That guy aimed for $100,000, but fell short – as he said, do you think he cared, considering he hadn’t made such wealth in his whole lifetime before? This is why for me, aiming for a million is key… even if I fall well short, heck even if I only make a tenth of the amount… I’ll be pretty darned happy with life.

Anyways, let me stop the waffling – you guys know I can write, I hope; most of you have seen past examples of a couple of my eBooks, and of course there’s this blog. I’ve also done fairly well with short written eBook guides in the past; nothing spectacular, but they’ve made some money. Anyways, the whole concept is to become the world’s first one dollar millionaire. Basically, someone that made his fortune off one dollar reports.

As I mention on the sales page, at the moment there’s no way I’d be able to command even $100 for my reports… you see, I’ve got very few fans out here in the world of internet marketing, and out of those, few are deluded love me enough to fork out $100 for something I’ve written, no matter how promising I say it’ll be. Even by promoting $10 products, it’s unlikely that I’d make enough sales required to make one million dollars, as the lack of reputation plays in a bit (ten dollars is enough that people could buy hosting for a month or a domain, rather than a guide) so the average user, one that had never heard of me before would probably be 99% unlikely to fork over the money.

A one dollar report on the other hand… how many people that can afford computer usage would miss one dollar? You waste insane amounts of spare change weekly on complete rubbish, so another dollar isn’t going to be a big loss. In fact, if something useful was offered up, I’m sure people would be more than happy to part with that dollar, as these days value for money is becoming a more and more obsolete term. What I decided to do was create a short (well, 3,000 words or so) report and aim to make one million dollars… in sales. There, you can call in the psychiatrists as I’ve clearly lost it

What I’m thinking is that even if this bombs completely (although I have a few marketing ideas up my sleeve) this should get me, and thus this blog a little bit of exposure… even if there’s a ton of people calling me a complete nutcase, there’s no such thing as bad publicity.

Sadly this eBook isn’t about making money online; I’ll be targeting the social networks (like Facebook, Myspace, Digg, Stumble Upon) and wanted to create something that would convert well there, so I’ve written up a ‘life tips’ guide, one that should be well received. The guide is titled ‘Seven Ways To Live A Better Life‘ and is approximately a little more than 3,000 words long, well formatted and contains a few pictures (something I’ve often lacked).

I have seen this attempted before (people aiming to reach a million off a lot of one dollars) however the reason they failed is because they didn’t offer anything useful to their readers; I however (hopefully!) have, and when you do something like that you’ve got a much better chance than someone begging for donations.

I’ll update on how this goes; if you want to join the madness, and help me become the world’s first One Dollar Millionaire, go over to the website and make a purchase. Trust me, it’s worth a lot more than the dollar :)

Any thoughts?
