Sorry for the swearing guys. :)

How much money is your integrity worth?

For some – not much. Not much at all.

Most in the blogosphere will have heard of the Reverse Funnel System – you’ll see their ads on around.. 85% of blogs in this niche today, and the thing is… 90% of those people do not know what they are promoting.

If you promote something to your readers without knowing what it is, you are a moron. Sorry, but that’s the way I see it. ;)

Unlike other rubbish that you’ll find in the webmaster industry, the Reverse Funnel System is slightly… higher priced than most products. You need to pay forward $50 just to get more information about it, and then $3,000 if you want to join the program.

$3,050… now that’s a sum, isn’t it? However, that’s just the beginning, as that amount guarantees you nothing – you still have to buy advertising for the program, advertising that could cost anywhere between $10 – $2,000+ dollars (on their sales page, they recommend having $2 – $5k startup capital).

Of course, this “product” (which is related to travel) that you promote pays well – it pays $1,000 upwards, as well as $1,000 downwards. So in reality, the value of the product itself… isn’t worth more than $1,000.

Now, anything with a commission worth more than a couple of dollars will see people promote it, but when you have something that pays out a commission of $1,000, people are going to promote it heavily.

It all started out with the king of ripping off his readers, or John Chow, who did a review a few days ago… now he has a few (thousand) fanboys who cling on to his every word so obviously they started promoting the Reverse Funnel System themselves.

To give you some idea of the level of idiocy Chow inspires in the blogosphere, I’ve received more than fifteen combined requests to talk about the RFS over the last four days on TUK, paid requests of course. Ranging from a review with someone else’s affiliate links inserted to a peel away ad, an inline ad and the all too common 125 x 125 ads. All rejected, sadly.

People are hyping up the crap out of this program, just so that they can hopefully get the commissions – they are never going to though.

I’m talking about blogs where the blogger makes less than $10/day or similar, and then decides to promote the crap out of the RFS when they cleared don’t a) have the money to buy it and b) would not be able to make money with it even if they did. This is not a system for newbies.

I’ll give you a direct quote of the above madness – taken from another blog that is slightly lesser off than this one:

“When using this system, the only thing you’ll need to do to rake in say, $1,000 per day in sales, is send a constant stream of prospects through the reverse tunnel. It’s not even that hard to do, either.”

Really? If $1,000 per day in sales was easy to do, we’d all be pretty damned happy with life and none of the rest of you would have full time jobs

If that was unique, fine, but you’ll see other reviews, talking about how good this system is, how easy it is to make money, why you should joinfrom people that have clearly never used it.

If you see a review about the Reverse Funnel System that talks about how good it is, especially if it’s talking about how good it is for newbies, feel free to call them an idiot in the comments section of that post. I hate people who take advantage of those that don’t know any better, and the tools promoting the Reverse Funnel System are amongst the worst kind (as they are promoting a $3,000 worth item, money that could be used to start quite a few projects online).

I’m going to talk about an easier model to make money over the next few days – that is website flipping, which requires less than $10 to start up and can make you hundreds of dollars. I’m also going to talk about eBooks, which requires nothing to startup and can make you thousands of dollars (I’ve made thousands, and if I can do it anyone can). As long as you build something valuable, you’ll rake in the cash.

Last but not least, I’m going to try a little bit of affiliate marketing soon – just got accepted into Market Leverage (after been repeatedly told to do so by Max @ Money Bites  ) and am going to try out some of their offers – you know, the whole email/zip submit thing. Having a credit card leaves you open to so much more opportunities in internet marketing now, doesn’t it :)

Both you and the other blogger seem to have the same exact opinion.

Hmrph… I guess I’m technically “advertising” it, but it’s only a 125×125 banner, I’ve never actually recommended it which I think is a big difference. You need to separate between the bloggers that are just taking money from them (like myself) and those actively posting about their services.

Your users do not know that you are not recommending them (to me, whatever appears on a blog has been passed by the blogger).

The question remains to be asked… how many people do you know that are making the $5,000 a week proclaimed by the RFS, especially considering the amount of their ads all over the place? I’d say zero. ;)

Bravo! I totally agree with you, as much as I respect JC when I see posts like that (Reverse Funnel System) they loose a notch in my eyes. Now I’m sure JC doesn’t give jack whether I respect him or not as he’s probably made $500.00 from that review — but I agree with you 100% — promote something you know and believe in – speak about it, recommend it but only if you’ve understood it. Honestly when I read about this, the first word that came to my mind was “scam”. Whether it is or not, is another story.

I too saw that review and thought man, this guy has no shame…I personally think if something’s “so easy” they should let you do it and then just deduct the price of the program from your first sale. Oh sure, everyone wants to guard their closely kept “money making secrets”…but if you’re not afraid of that it might not be bad to get a few people trying to earn you a few hundred bucks before they give up :)

I actually know someone that bought into the whole reverse funnel system and forked out the 3 grand. He was absolutely new to IM and thought it would be a great way to break into the MMO world (you know, the start big concept). The last time I talked to him I believe he had $1000 after two months of fulltime work. Not a very good return on investment IMO!

I had thought it was an ‘OK’ MLM because folks like Chow and Courtney Tuttle advertised it. I had a 125×125 for it on OpTempo for about a week back in November. When I got more info on it, I pulled the ad.

These systems remind me of the load of crap that the pyramid schemes of yesteryear were when they were popular. Essentially if your not one of the first 10-20 in on this your going to get hosed on your ROI vs TIME. Skip this your integrity is worth more.

I really have no idea about the “‘Reverse Funnel System” I just read about it today, and saw the 10’s of Utube posts saying it is a scam, but they are actually advertising the system themselfs. All I know that a system that does not actually sell somthing that you can hold or use will end badly for people who buying at the bottom. But again I really have no idea, I come accoss it looking for work on a employment web site and got distracted. LOL

So your “realistic” alternative is peddle nickle and dime crap? Let me know when that replaces a real income. What you’re talking about is only well positioned as a “funded proposal” or some little stuff to offset the marketing of a real business.

The funnel sucks. It’s used to churn and burn newbies now. But that’s not the point. So many people are out there spinning their wheels peddling little crap that will NEVER make you any real money… but your blog looks nice…

The only way to generate REAL money is to plug some high end option into your own funnel. Site flipping, traffic arbitrage, coreg, cpa… that’s just terminology the so-called gurus use in the “flavor of the day” type of “super tactic” to scam little thinkers out of a couple bucks…

Same ole played out stuff… you need to treat this as a real business. Once you do, then you can generate real money. I’ve generated MULTIPLE six figures per year for over 8 years from home properly marketing what you would call “scams” only because your mind doesn’t understand marketing in those pricepoint.

Hard to fathom what you can do with $3,000 when you’re out scratching for some minimum wage cheddar and sitting through some boring ass college lecture taught by another broke as hell individual with an attitude… You may just be in the wrong environment to thing big…

Can’t wait till you join us in the real world. University wasted the hell out of my time and money and was boring as all heck…
