I relaxed for most of yesterday… got a few things setup though that I will be working on.

First off – the Facebook application I’ve been talking about. Now, there are a lot of ways bloggers can get information out there about their blog – I haven’t really marketed TUK apart from a few posts on Digital Point and the odd comment on related blogs. The Facebook application should change that, I hope; I’ve set the basic image to show as TUK so nearly everyone that installs it will visit the site. Now, it’s not going to be popular with the average Facebook user (although people can use it to show off their Bebo, Myspace or whatever other crap they use profile) but it should be a hit (I’m hoping, at least) with the webmasters that use it. Basically what the application does is show a clickable screenshot of your website in your profile along with the Alexa Rank; I’ll add more stuff to it if it gets more and more popular.

Here’s what it looks like:

There are a few bugs – the Links In show as zero (I’ll probably remove that) and the ajax stuff on TUK expands (which is probably a fault of the theme, and not the application. It’s pretty decent otherwise though – here’s a screenshot of the backend.

Easy to use. I’ll probably sneak in a ‘Sponsored by The University Kid’ somewhere there – you know the backlinks and all that

At the moment my website is a bit bland and cookie-cutter-ish, but once the header gets put up, it should entice a lot more people to click on it.

Alright, so y’all know I have holidays… anyways, I’m going to make sure that I put them to good use. Today I bought the first thing out of my Internet earnings – take a look, I’m sure it’ll help me be even more productive…

FIFA is one of the few games I like playing; I bought it from Virgin today and will be trying it out. I had a few tries; it’s a lot, lot harder to play than the older versions and I even almost lost to Spurs

I will be having a go at it online once I get good enough, so if any of y’all want to thrash me get oh so badly owned, feel free to drop me a line. I also thought about setting up a website for webmasters/bloggers to play FIFA online against each other – perhaps betting even; not money, because I don’t bet for it but say a blog review or something. I picked up the domain WebmasterFIFA.com – we’ll see how it goes.

Something that will help me be more productive though is the FruitfulTime Task Manager software which yours truly was given a free full copy of – being an important-ish blogger and all. It’s free to try out though, and pretty sexy to use – now, I’ve never been the most organized person, but this may be the thing that gets me going.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Pretty cool, eh? As I said, the trial version is free – have a looksee and purchase it if you like it. I spoke with the guy that runs it and he has some big ideas – with the current way it functions, and the scope for a larger amount of improvement… they should do well. Their sales page can be found at FruitFulTime Dot Com… I could have picked up affiliate commissions if one of you guys purchased through me, but I couldn’t be arsed to signup for the program so this is a totally affiliate free link.

Pretty sexy graphics, eh?

By the way, my contest for 125 x 125 ad spots is going well – there are currently 24 entries giving me a net cost of around $1.25 per entry. I’m expecting that to drop below a buck apiece… I am giving out review copies of the eBook for all those that do enter though, so any accusations of me being a cheap, heartless bastard can now be quenched (this time, at least :) ). If you want to enter, check out the thread.

That’s all for today – I’ll have a guest post coming in tomorrow by someone else. Anyways, time for another game of good ole FIFA…

I agree with SawanM, Pro Evo is far greater than FIFA.

Brilliant idea with the Facebook application, should get many hits.

That task manager thing looks pretty decent, may take a closer look after my exams.

I prefer PES… on consoles like the Xbox, PS etc. On the PC though, there’s only one winner…

And don’t promote the fooking app yet mate, it’s not done

Need to fix it up a bit, let’s hope it works out well…

I love PES, a great game to play, better gameplay and graphics.

I also have Fifa 2008 on the PC.

Send the link over MSN or something when it’s done and I will spam…. erm promote the app.

    Thanks

    Sure mate, will do.

Is your FIFA 08 legit or bought off some old Chinese lady with a suitcase? :)

I don’t think FIFA has ever got back to as good as it was for FIFA98 RTWC. I played both on the xbox in the last year (PES & FIFA08) and FIFA had nothing on PES (Apart from maybe the ability of the goalkeepers).

On the PC, i still prefer PES. I have only had PES6 on the PC before and it was again very good.

I will be adding the new app to my facebook also :) .

That’s a great idea for a Facebook App. Nicely done.

I’ve been trying to set aside time to make an App myself for months now with little success.

All my games are legit, I get a 20% discount anyway. Also, you ironic thing about your comment is that there is a Chinese man, not lady selling pirated movies outside shops :p

@ James… FIFA 02 was best, they had spacebar for the 1-2 pass… easy as hell. And they had India as a national side too…

    @ Link – I paid someone to do that… I can’t code for donkeys

@ Sawan, learn how to play online and I’ll kick your ass. Then post the screenshot of my win on TUK to gloat

Naah seriously, do so and we can have a go. I’m still learning :)
