If you’re like a lot of the people that read this blog, I’d wager that you want to make a full time living online. You know, working in your pajamas, four and five figure days and all that.

Most of you will not make it.

At least, the ones I’ve spoken to over the last few days.

As you guys know, I’ve launched a small make money online coaching program… one that I feel will benefit both parties equally. However, i just don’t get some of the people I’ve spoken to about this… people that are scared to invest the $0.01 required for the course.

Just as an example, below are some of the questions I’ve gotten over the last few days. None made up, all through MSN or email:

Will I get a refund if I don’t like the coaching?

Is this a scam?

Are you really going to coach us?

Why can’t you do this for free?

Can I pay after I start making money?

Will you coach us every single day for the next three months?

Can you set me up a website?

If I send $0.01 to your Paypal, can I have the coaching?

Negotiations over one cent… heck, even presale support over one cent? Come on!

You HAVE to invest if you want to make serious money online. By serious money, I mean more than a few hundred. Yes, you can get started via free methods – article marketing, forum posting, content writing are examples of this, but in time you will need to outsource, buy domains pay for hosting, PPC etc.

You cannot be scared – not all of your projects will be profitable. I’ve invested $0.x to make $xxx and on the other hand I’ve invested $xxx to make $x. As long as you’re making profit though, all is good – just take what you’re doing and repeat it one thousand times.

Of course there are ways to minimize risk… experience, getting people on instant messenger with experience… you get the idea. However, if you are too scared to invest one cent in your business… pick up your computer, talk over to the nearest window and dump it out. I’m not joking (okay, maybe a lil  )

Are you serious lol! I would do it if I wasn’t to busy following some of your other advice on a very interesting blog entry a while back. I’m really frustrated that people would really ask questions like that. Folks, if you want this bad enough you have to want it. And quality help like this is not easily found! Gosh, seriously, why not follow some of the advice he has given in the past, that alone could fund your one on one sessions with JP.

Anyways, great job JP, keep up the great work man.

    Respectfully,

I bet these people are the same people who probably gamble, or spend huge amounts of money on frivolities. It’s amazing how people don’t speculate to accumulate. :)

I mean, I have projects that have been profitable and ones that haven’t. One have been profitable is beer, ones who haven’t have been experience :)

Look at it this way: would you invest $0.01 for the POSSIBILITY of making $100/day? I just don’t get how people are scared to do that and, yet, go out and spend $10 at McDonalds. The mentality doesn’t make sense.

I agree, and I am sorta afraid to invest any money at all.
I decided a while ago that I would not invest any of my own money, but that I would re invest the money that I had already earned.

    Hey,

I think you meant “take” instead of “talk” on that last line :P

But you’re right, you definitely need to spend money to make money, and I officially started my AM career… created my first landing page and everything. We’ll see how it goes…

I find this to be the majority of people looking to make money online. I understand not having money to get started, but, if you can get coached for .01 then, why not take advantage? Only reason I’m not doing it yet is like someone else said, I am busy on some of your other advice…….

But, I am seriously considering it! It’s really a win win for someone that is serious about running a business online.

Some of those are really funny. I know battling fear and doubts is one of my biggest hurdles to success. No matter how good an idea I come up with, if I think about it long enough, I start coming up with all kinds of reasons as to why it won’t work. The other problem I think you’ve found is that people online are very skeptical. I read a study the other day that suggested that the majority of people online believed less than half of what they read.

My biggest problem is not the money, but rather finding the best places to invest it. Seems like I always end up spending lots on crap. Maybe I’ll get in on your program just to find out the best places to invest….

The $.01 price is obviously not a deterrent, but I think you might actually have better luck if the price were higher. At that price, maybe people think there is no possible way you could be providing them with value. Especially since there is so much free content online already that they think is worth more than $.01, but they are getting it for nothing.

Definitely takes money to make money, though. Finding smart investments to maximize your ROI is the key, with blogging as in any business model.

Ha, reminds me of I’m gonna git you sucka where Chris Rock has the following lines:

Rib Joint Customer: Ya got any soda?
    Hammer: One dollar.
Rib Joint Customer: Aw, c’mon, now! Look out for a brother, man, c’mon, yeah. Check this out: why don’t you let me get a sip for fifteen cents?
Hammer: My cups cost more than fifteen cents!
Rib Joint Customer: All right, f$#@ the cup. Pour it in my hand for a dime.

Finally after all this… he says: Got change for a hundred? Classic!
