I haven’t really had much luck with useful posts on TUK so let’s try something that’s the complete opposite – people that irritate you. Everyone loves a rant; it being Friday means a lot of you can cool off from work/school (unless you’ve got a month off like yours truly  ) and let it all out – so, what irritates you?

I have a load of people… you’ll all know about the illegal eBook resellers and various other idiots… time for the list.

Low ballers

No, I’m not talking about basketball. You know the people – you setup a thread with a site, domain or eBook and the price is clearly mentioned and people PM you (or worse, post in the thread) asking for copies at $3 or sometimes even less. Tied into this are the twits that ask for review copies twenty reviews into the selling of a product – people that were clearly never interested in buying it but just wanted to sponge a free copy.

People that only have a one way relationship

No, I’m not talking about dating; I’m talking about relationships in the webmaster world. Throughout my time online I’ve met a load of people – most of them are very helpful and thus I have no problem when they ask for something. There are a few people that only ask and ask and ask and never offer something in return – I’m not talking about money, but some help of some sort or similar. I’m sure you’ll know these kinds of people – they’re f**king annoying!

People that ask for an appraisal and then get pissed off

I have loads of people do this every day – ask for an opinion on a domain value, the quality of and eBook or how good a website/design looks. Now, I’m not someone that beats around the bush – if I think something is shite, I’ll say it. The most annoying thing is when someone argues against it – for example, a person that thinks a domain that’s four crap words long with hyphens between each is worth $1000… well, there’s nothing you can do with them. Common arguments include ‘my friend said it was worth $xxxx’ or ‘I saw that it is popular (with no proof to back this up)’. Irritating to the extreme, to say the least.

How about you – what do you find irritating online? Rant and rave

Woot, first comment, first one in ages :P

Anyway, I have seen some preposterous remarks about some appraisals, since someone (in DP, I am sure you know who it is) keeps comparing his domain to other auctions which are similiar, which made big bucks and then someone of them are completely meh.

I hate 90% of threads on DP in the AdSense section. Some people are just really… really… uhhh…

That stuff pisses me off so much. People coming on going “I click my own ads :D ” They have to add that damn smiley face to! Just to piss off honest publishers.

No I am not talking about people who believe the only way food is cook is when it is nuked. What irritates me is the people who think they can get rich over night with blogging just because they saw someone else do it and they try to copy and low and behold they give out the wrong information and lead someone down the wrong path.
    Great Rant!!!!

I know what you mean, For example when your going round tesco’s and somone just nicks your herbs out your trolley and you were planning on making a really nice casserole, And technically its not theft because you havn’t paid for them yet.

But yeah I do know what you mean about the whole Low ballers thing, I occasionally graze the bs&t section and the first page is just filled with people asking for a review copy, its sheer bollocks I tell yer!

I’m irritated by people who think 9-5 from graduation to retirement is the only way to get through life. It’s no wonder that everybody here in the US is tired, depressed, and stressed out.

I really cannot stand people who don’t reply after having posted that they’re looking for something.
I mean: they post something like “WTB sites about my Grandma” – you reply offering them something in that niche and they do never say anything back.
I can understand that replying to 100 offers may require too much time, but a post saying “Contacted people offering stuff I like” would be more appreciated than silence !!!

I dunno, you might want to see it through. Who knows, even if you’re making 10k/month, the entire Internet could collapse 5 years down the road and then you’d be out of a job.

The first semester is always the worst. Just lighten your course load next semester.

Recently I blogged about my hate (or irritation) towards people that contact you about exchanging links, exchange links with you, then a few months later when your on their site your link has disappeared – yet you are still linking to their site. Is a bit cheeky, in my opinion :(

    @Trendy..
I’d suggest.. you do that first..
Jack their link off your site before they get the chance to do it
