Everyone knows how difficult it is to get a startup going, and its good to have people around you that are willing to help out. TUK has a strong community and much of that is spilling over to BP now. Everyone should be able to contribute something to help an acquaintance get their project off the ground. Look at me, not much to say but saying as much as I can!

Honestly though I used to feel the same way. Recently Ive been invited to a couple of ground level jv's and honestly its alot of work for someone starting out to promote and make the grade for your parteners, but when you do it is more than worth the time and effort. A new customer base, a targeted niche, and publicity and to think you don't really pay much for it all anyway. Everyone should be trying to get involved. First off, I think this blog is fairly well written but the truth is that I am a little skeptical about taking advice from somebody who labels themselves as a "kid". I associate the word "kid" with "lack of experience" and I have to comment to say this article reeks of the afformentioned trait. Apparently the author and most of the readers here were still in diapers during the first dot com boom and are unaware that lending your name and reputation to internet startups can cause you more damage than good. I learned my lessons about startups, partnerships and the stock market during and after the dot com boom and I also lost a lot of valuable contacts due to promoting startups to my older investor friends and family.
