How I wish I had enough traffic that I could make more than a post a day…

I was going to write this yesterday, but didn’t want to confuse you guys with too many posts. Ah well ;)

There are some of you that do purchase advertising on other sites, especially if you’re a blogger – there are others that just can’t be bothered as a) you don’t have the money to spend or b) have the money to spend but can’t be bothered as you think it’ll end up giving you useless returns. Most people don’t have the money to spend on such things, which is why I’ll be offering something (hopefully) unique-ish, just for my readers.

You may notice the ads in the sidebar on the right – there are six of those, and those are permanent (albeit rotating on the page). There is also another slot, at the bottom, alone – that’s the one you’ll be in. Now, that will be in rotation too, with a maximum of ten other bloggers sharing that spot, and I’ll be giving them out free (money wise, at least). What will you need to do to get them?

As you can see, Dighong.com and Profitbaron.com already took me up on this offer. At the moment, both their ads are in rotation on one slot, and that will (hopefully) send them a decent amount of visitors, or if not that just impressions – even if your ad is viewed by someone at the corner of their eye, it helps for branding and they’ll recognize it if they come across it again.

Basically, I’m looking for links. All you have to do is mention me in a new post on your blog, (and add me to the sidebar if you want) and I’ll put it up. I’d appreciate a short review, but that’s not at all required – just a small mention in a post will be fine. Other requirements are that you’re in the internet marketing/blogging tips/make money online niche and you update your blog at least once a week. Also, you supply the 125 x 125 banner – I don’t have the time or the graphical capability to make them. :)

How this benefits you

Ad shown on a blog with 200 – 300+ daily visitors – even if all slots are filled, that’s 20/30+ visitors that will see your ad, every day for a month for free. I’ll also give you a mention in a post like I did to the above two. You also get the Technorati increase and of course a couple PR3 backlinks.

How this benefits me

Technorati and increased backlinks. Exposure on your site if yours is half decent :)

Somehow I think this might benefit you more than me, but hey, we’re all out to help each other ;)

Alright, time for the general roundup.

Amazing cost, amazing quality.

I came across this a couple days ago – WPDesigner is starting up a new themes club where you’re guaranteed twelve, high quality WordPress themes for… $5.00. That’s right, five bucks! After looking at the couple on display, I had to signup – well worth it and now bloggers can get decent quality themes for a completely affordable price – they’ll be somewhat unique too. Check out the post for more details. And nope, they don’t have an affiliate program so I’m getting nothing but good will by mentioning this to you :)

Guest posters on TUK

I’ve got three confirmed (confirmed as in they’ve written up the posts as drafts) – one pending from my good buddy Sammy (whose free lunch just expired  ) and a few more pending from various other bloggers. I only need ten, so if you’d like to put up one, please tell me :)

Other’s earning stats

I see John Chow has put up his ($30,000! :o ) while so has Usman and Chris, but where’s the statistics from the rest of blogosphere? I need a tonne of inspiration, being so lazy and all :) . I did come across the release of S.eriously.com, a site with a tonne of big cheques… pretty cool stuff

RSS Contest

I’ll be entering into an RSS contest with a few buddies – should be going through by the 5th, so stay tuned. Basically who can trick get the most people to sign up to their feed. Simple stuff. Speaking about contests, Ian Fernando is having one where you can win a sexy free Premium News WordPress Template. If you’re too cheap (I use the term cost-effective ;) ) for the $5 theme club, you can enter his contest here. Ends on February 10th.

Copywriting skillz

My rates are slowly increasing – I eventually want to be paid $0.5/word, hopefully sometime before the end of the year. Yesterday I finished re-writing up a sales page for a decent total ($150 for the full job) while I’ll be getting another $250 after I finish my eBook writing job. Speaking of eBook writing jobs, I’ve got a new offer…

eBook Idea Share

This is something that could be very, very profitable… anyways, let me explain. You see, there are lots of people that have pretty decent ideas for a short report, but can’t write for monkeys – my new offer should change all that.

Basically, if you have an idea, but can’t write and can’t afford a copywriter, you may have though you’d never make money with eBooks – no you can. If you have an idea, and I think it’s decent… I’ll write your eBook for you with no fees up front. I generally charge $200 for a 1,000 word eBook, so for the first $200, we’ll split the funds 70/30 (in my favour) – you get paid for your idea, while I make a decent amount of money for writing your report.

After that, we’ll split the earnings 50/50 – that’s right, half each. Someone came to me a couple days ago with a request like that and so far we’ve grossed around $300 in sales… him getting a decent amount for just sending out payment details. After sales die, we can work on the website, and split that 50/50 too. If you’d be interested in something like that, or have an amazing idea that just hasn’t seen the light of day yet, feel free to ping me on instant messenger. Note that if I think it is a bad one, I will not write it.

Fixing up the blog

I put in some work yesterday to fix up this blog a little bit – there’s the work I did with the 125 x 125 ads of course (installing the Got Banners plugin) and I also fixed up some of the pages you see above – changed the order (before Links appeared first I think) and tweaked a few of them to lessen the swearing and update on prices. Also found out that my Advertise page is now PR2, which is pretty sweet. Last but not least, I added NBA to the How I Make Money Online page and updated my affiliate links – for hosting, for example it’s now theuniversitykid.com/go/hostican.php which looks a lot more friendly to both my readers and the search engines (as links are nofollow). A lot of work (jeez man! :) ) but hopefully something that’ll do well in the long run. I used to use HTML redirects for other affiliate links, but now I use php ones – thanks to this useful post written by John Chow a while ago.

Oh yeah, the reason for this early blog post was because the football is on tonight – Arsenal v Manchester City away and then Man Utd to get thrashed by Tottenham (or not  ). Might as well put in the post now than delay and put one in at 12 AM… :)
